Our Team
Ali Ehsan Rind
CEO & FOUNDER
Ali Ehsan Rind is the co-founder of Orion Exploration and a mining and energy expert with over 20 years of experience. The former Country Manager for Barrick in Pakistan, Ali specializes in developing large-scale mining projects in high-risk areas and has worked on major projects like the Reko Diq copper and gold project in Chagai, Balochistan.
He holds a Master’s degree from IBA and has worked with leading organizations such as Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Balochistan Mineral Resources Limited (BMRL), Balochistan Mineral Exploration Company (BMEC), and Eni Pakistan Ltd.
Muhammad Imtiaz
DIRECTOR-PROJECTS
Muhammad Imtiaz is the Director-Projects for Orion Exploration and a highly accomplished geologist with over 20 years of experience in mineral exploration, mine planning, and project management in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan. Holding an M.Phil in Mineralogy, he specializes in the complete exploration workflow—from geochemical and geophysical surveying to exploratory drilling, resource evaluation, and bankable feasibility studies.
His career combines senior leadership roles in major industry joint ventures with a strong technical foundation in economic and engineering geology. Mr. Imtiaz has extensive, hands-on experience managing large-scale iron ore and barite-lead-zinc projects, overseeing everything from field operations and stakeholder liaison to international consultant collaboration. He is instrumental in driving Orion’s project execution, ensuring technical excellence and strategic growth across the company’s exploration portfolio.
Dr. Mahnaz Sabahi
CONSULTANT GEOSCIENTIST
Dr. Mahnaz Sabahi is a consulting geoscientist for Orion Exploration and a specialist in structural geology and tectonics with extensive expertise in remote sensing and GIS analysis. Holding a Ph.D. in Tectonics, she leverages advanced geospatial technology to de-risk and target mineral exploration in complex geological terrains.
Her career bridges world-class academic research with practical industry application, having worked extensively with one of Canada’s premier metallurgical laboratories. Dr. Sabahi’s deep field experience is rooted in the structurally complex Sistan-Baluchistan region of Iran, giving her unique insight into the tectonic frameworks that control major mineral systems. She is instrumental in guiding Orion’s exploration strategies, integrating structural analysis with geochemical and geophysical data to identify and prioritize high-value targets.
Faraz Zafar
DIRECTOR-INVESTMENTS
Faraz Zafar Ahmed is the Director-Investments for Orion Exploration, bringing over 15 years of experience in private equity, investment management, and corporate turnaround across diverse sectors. A Chartered Accountant and MSc Finance graduate from London Business School, he specializes in sourcing, evaluating, and structuring investments, with a strong track record in business development and portfolio growth.
His distinguished career bridges global financial expertise—beginning at Pantheon Ventures in London—with deep, on-the-ground experience in Pakistan's corporate and agricultural sectors. Faraz has been instrumental in pioneering and scaling ventures in agriculture, aquaculture, and drone technology, and continues to serve on the boards of prominent agri-businesses. He applies his strategic investment acumen and sector-specific insights to guide Orion’s financial planning and growth initiatives, ensuring robust and scalable project development.
